Alison Allen

HR Expert and Workplace Menopause Trainer

With over two decades of experience in HR and learning & development, Alison is dedicated to helping organisations meet all their HR needs, with a passion for supporting workplaces to navigate the subject of menopause in the workplace.

As a seasoned HR professional, Alison possesses profound insights into the impact of menopause on the workplace. She is passionate about educating and fostering awareness to support colleagues experiencing this life stage. Alison holds accreditation as a Workplace Menopause Trainer, reflecting her unwavering commitment to cultivating a culture of menopause education within organisations.

In today’s workforce, 8 out of 10 menopausal women remain employed, constituting the fastest-growing workplace demographic. Alarmingly, 1 out of 10 women contemplate resigning due to menopausal symptoms, with 1 in 10 actually leaving their positions.

The potential loss of knowledge and experience from businesses is staggering. Moreover, 46% of these women keep their struggles hidden, fearing negative perceptions, while 41% worry about their abilities being questioned. This silent suffering demonstrates the need for knowledgeable managers.

Alison’s expertise as a Workplace Menopause Trainer shines through as she endeavours to raise awareness and provide education through inclusive training sessions. Her mission is to equip colleagues with an understanding of menopause and its potential impacts and to empower leaders and managers to offer support and reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

With the surge in awareness about menopause, Alison aims to mitigate the growing employment tribunal claims, which increased by 40% between 2021 and 2022. By championing education and awareness, Alison is transforming workplaces and fostering inclusivity.
